In view of its
intention to cope with the current events in the
field of commerce and investment, arbitration
has become a widespread and preferred method of
resolving disputes in many industries such as
the maritime, securities and the construction
industries. As arbitration is less formal than
court proceedings, therefore, it is supposed to
be speedy and more cost-effective procedure.
Many parties, who have
had cordial and long-term commercial
relationship with one another, find, from time
to time, that they have disputes with each other
which can be best resolved through arbitration,
using a panel of maritime arbitrators or a sole
of arbitrator, who are or have been in the
shipping business to resolve such disputes in
both quick and cost-effective way. It also
allows for the continued, normal conduct of
other ongoing commercial arrangements by
isolating the matter in dispute.
The conference will be
significant and off a great interest to every
maritime and commercial arbitrator. It will
provide a forum for maritime arbitrators and
lawyers to deliberate and exchange views and
news of professional interest.
